A week after the draw, the winner of a £73 million EuroMillions jackpot has come forward to claim their prize. A ticket bought in Britain matched all the numbers last Friday. The winner contacted lottery officials this afternoon but it is not yet known whether they plan to accept their win publicly.
The jumbo jackpot is the eighth largest lottery win for a UK player since EuroMillions began in 2004. It amounts to the eighth biggest jackpot in UK lottery history, and makes the winner richer than Britain’s wealthiest sportsman Lewis Hamilton, who has a personal fortune of £68 million, according to the Sunday Times Rich List.
The winning numbers in Friday’s EuroMillions draw were 30, 42, 04, 31 and 38 and the Lucky Star numbers were 11 and 02.
