One lucky lottery player from Staten Island matched the winning Powerball numbers on March 14, 2015, winning the $137 million jackpot. The New York Lottery today confirmed that a jackpot-winning ticket for the Powerball drawing held on March 14 was sold at the a 7-Eleven in Richmond Valley, New York. The sole winning ticket is worth $137 Million. The 7-Eleven located at 15 Page Ave will receive a $10,000 bonus for its role in selling the jackpot winning Powerball ticket. The unknown winner has 180 day to claim the prize, the New York Lottery officials said.
This is the first jackpot winner and the eighth drawing since three ticket holders split the near-record $564 million jackpot on Feb, 11, 2015. Two states had ticket holders who matched 5 numbers, winning $1 million each. Those tickets were sold in Florida and Oregon. There were two Match Five winners altogether. The next jackpot on March 18 will reset to $40 million.
