The Powerball Jackpot winner of April 23, 2014, winning the $148.8 million jackpot come forword to claim the prize. Florida Lottery announced the FlaMass Family Lottery Joint Venture claimed the $148.8 million jackpot prize for the Powerball drawing. The joint venture partners, Louis Centrella, 72, of Daytona Beach; Suzanne Centrella, 54, of Naples; and Christopher Centrella, 39, of Naples; chose to receive the winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $86,932,220.04. The retailer received a $60,000 bonus commission for selling the ticket. Twenty-five percent of that must be paid in federal taxes.The ticket was sold at E’s Country Store North, 14344 Immokalee Road, Naples, Florida, and was chosen by the quick pick method.

In addition one ticket holder used the Power Play feature and matched 5 numbers, winning $2 million. That ticket was purchased in Indiana. Three other tickets matched five numbers with no power play and won $1 million. Those tickets were sold in California, Colorado, and Maryland. According to the Michigan lottery, a total of 17,031 Powerball players (on April 23) matched different combinations of winning numbers to win at least $4 each. The next Powerball drawing is April 26. The jackpot has been reset to $40 million.
