For the first time in more than a year-and-a-half, someone who bought a Powerball ticket in New Jersey has hit the jackpot.The $40 million Powerball ticket for Wednesday’s drawing sold in New Jersey originated in Bergen County.
The lucky ticket was purchased at Rocklins Stationers located at 458 Cedar Lane in Teaneck, state lottery officials announced. If the winner chooses to take his or her winnings as a lump sum, he or she will receive $26.8 million minus federal and state taxes. Another ticket sold in Bergen matched four numbers and the Powerball and is worth $10,000. That ticket was sold at Montvale Snack Shop located at 108 Spring Valley Road in Montvale.
The big New Jersey Powerball win is the latest in a fortunate run for lottery players in NJ and New York. It’s the second consecutive drawing where a player hit the jackpot of $50 million ticket sold in Tennessee for Saturday’s game.
Powerball winning numbers for Wednesday, March 25, 2015 are 7, 19, 23, 50, 54. The Powerball number is 14.
