The 50-year-old Julie Leach, mother of three and grandmother of 11 from Three Rivers is the winner of last week’s $310.5 million Powerball game. she, matched all of the winning numbers drawn in the Sept. 30 Powerball drawing: 21-39-40-55-59 and the Powerball, 17, to win the enormous jackpot. Leach’s big win marks the third time a Michigan player has won the Powerball jackpot. The $310.5 million jackpot is the second-largest ever won in the state.
Leach bought her winning Lottery ticket Sept. 29 at Three Rivers West Shell on the way to work. She had been working at the fiberglass manufacturer for over 23 years. Leach chose to receive her $310.5 million jackpot as a one-time lump sum payment of $197.4 million, rather than an annuity. After tax withholdings, she will receive about $140 million. On Tuesday morning, she accepted a symbolic lump-sum check at the Michigan Lottery’s headquarters — a multimillion-dollar payment she expects to financially set up her family for life.
Powerball winning numbers for Wednesday, September 30, 2015 are 21, 39, 40, 55, 59. The Powerball number is 17.
